An impressive individual is required to work as a member of the residential support staff team. You will be working to support and care for residential students on a daily basis.
The post-holder will be required to work in any of the College's residences and will report to the Residential Team Leader, under the overall management of the Care Manager.Queen Alexandra College is a national College for people aged 16+ with visual impairment and other disabilities. Its primary aim is to develop the skills of all students to the full, enabling them to learn, live and work as independently as possible in society. Most students have some degree of visual impairment, many have additional disabilities and learning difficulties.
Candidates should have an understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and be able to deal with them patiently, flexibly and respectfully. Suitable candidates should display good interpersonal skills with students, staff and external contacts and should be organised, reliable and work to high professional standards. A Level 2 NVQ qualification or equivalent is a requirement.
Salary is NJC scale 5 based on £12,711 per annum for a 38 hr working week.
