You are invited to visit QAC to discover for yourself the friendly atmosphere and great resources. You can meet students and staff and get answers to any questions before making an application. Call 0121 428 5041 to book an informal visit.
To apply for a place you will need to fill in an application form and medical form which we can give you when you visit. Download them using the links above or let us know if you prefer to receive these forms by post.
Usually, once you have sent in your application form to our Admissions Officer we will invite you in for an assessment. Then we can find out about you, your strengths, interests and support needs and agree with you the right programme. It helps us get to know you and lets you find out what QAC is like.
During your assessment you might meet the
following people: a speech and language therapist, a low vision specialist, a nurse, subject tutors, a mobility trainer, our benefits adviser, a computer/assistive technology tutor and residential staff. If you have a visual impairment as part of the assessment you will be invited to the Low Vision Centre at Focus Birmingham for a visual assessment. In order to achieve the best possible results from this assessment, it is important that you complete the low vision student questionnaire and bring it fully completed with you when you are invited to attend for assessment. If you are looking for a residential place you will have an overnight assessment to find out about living at College. Otherwise your initial assessment will take one day.
As soon as possible after your assessment we will write to you. If we can offer you a place we will complete our part of the funding application and send it to your Connexions Advisor. He or she will arrange a meeting with the relevant organisations to apply for funding.
The funding agency will write to you, your Advisor and to QAC with their decision. If funding is agreed we will contact you to make arrangements for you to start your programme.
Once you start at QAC we will spend a lot of time getting to know you better and making absolutely sure that your programme, support and accommodation meets your needs.
