Programme outline

This programme is followed by people in full time education and in employment for career development. You will be encouraged to develop a range of skills using a variety of techniques and materials. Working independently and with others, based in our exciting Art and Design studio, you will find countless opportunities to express your creativity and develop your key skills.

Duration

Start dates for this programme are flexible with completion usually achieved within 2 years.

Entry requirements

• BTEC Introductory Certificate/Diploma in Art and Design
• 4 GCSEs at a minimum grade of D-G
• A good NVQ Level 1 in an associated discipline

So - what’s next

The programme is intended for people who wish to pursue a career in art design and media based work in:

• Drawing, Painting and other 2D mark making
• Printmaking and surface design
• Art, design historical and professional practice research
• Ceramics and clay sculpture
• Graphic Design
• Textiles
• Multimedia – design using technology, computer animation and audio
• 3D design work

You can also use this qualification as a stepping stone to Level 3 (National Award, Certificate or Diploma) and towards Higher Education.
