In addition to learning valuable skills in using assistive technology such as Jaws, Supernova and Zoomtext, you will have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications in using braille and braille technology. These skills will be essential to your future success in education, employment and day to day life.

e-Digital Competence Certificate for Visually Impaired

These courses have been specifically designed for visually impaired and blind students. You will gain an understanding of hotkey commands, the use of magnification software for the visually impaired and screen reader software for those who are blind.

After partially sighted students have passed the software magnification assessments they can take any other eDCC course and assessment. Blind students are encouraged to pass both the screen reader and hotkey assessments before continuing.

e-Digital Competence Certificate

These are competence based certificates (70 in total to choose from) that will enable you to develop your ICT skills around various computer based applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, digital photography and editing, video production, computer-based presentations, desktop publishing and website design. These certificates are widely recognised by educational institutions and employers.

The eDCC certificates offer you the means of demonstrating to potential employers that you have the relevant computer literacy skills.
