Key Skills Qualifications

To get the most out of life you need to be able to communicate well with others, to be able to work with numbers and have some essential IT skills. In addition, the ability to reflect on how well you did something – so you can do better next time, to work well with other people and to be able to tackle a problem to find a solution are all valuable skills. Key Skills are really important and QAC will work with you, regardless of the programme you are studying, to help you improve these skills.

Certificate in Adult Numeracy Entry levels E1, E2 and E3 Levels 1 and 2

Functional Maths

You will study numeracy in addition to your main course at a level that is appropriate to you.

Numeracy skills are developed in small groups using a variety of practical resources, computer software and real life situations. You will work on acquiring skills to support your vocational programme and to enhance your independence. You will work on understanding personal finance issues, and develop problem solving skills by playing mathematical games and puzzles.

You will develop confidence in dealing with numbers.

Certificate in Adult Literacy Entry levels E1, E2 and E3,  Levels 1 & 2

Functional English E1, E2 and E3 Levels 1 & 2

Speaking and Listening Skills for Adult Learners Levels 1, 2 & 3

You will study literacy in addition to your main course at a level that is appropriate to you. You will develop a range of literacy skills based around practical and vocational contexts. You will also develop confidence in all aspects of literacy. This programme will enhance your independence and employability.

OCR ICT Entry Levels 1, 2 and 3

Functional ICT E1, E2 and E3 Levels 1 and 2

You will study ICT in addition to your main course at a level that is appropriate to you. You will be able to develop a range of ICT skills to further support you in your main programme of study. On successfully completing all ICT Entry Level qualifications, you can progress to a Level 1 ICT qualification.

Personal Development

You will complete your personal development programme alongside your main programme of study. Along with your main course, you will develop important skills such as working with others, problem solving and being able to improve your own learning.
