Skills for Life

Students taking part in the Skills for Life courses

Perkins brailler and braillists manualQAC helps to prepare you for success and independence after you leave college. Whether you get a job, do voluntary work or move on to further study there are skills to learn that can help you.

There will be help in developing your Basic and Key Skills at a level to suit you. You can gain qualifications in numeracy, literacy, communication and information technology, working with others and problem solving. You might choose the Speaking and Listening Skills for Adult Learners Level 1, 2 & 3 which is popular and enjoyable.

If English is not your first language you may wish to take an ESOL qualification such as the Certificate in Spoken Communication & Presentation (ESOL) Level 1, 2 & 3

You may also wish to gain a qualification in braille, braille technology or assistive technology or work to improve your orientation and mobility skills.

All of our training programmes include support with your basic skills of numeracy, communications and information technology, to give you the best chance of finding and keeping a job after College. Our Transitions Team will work with you on employability skills, interview skills and job search.
