LEAP (Learning for Employment and Progression) Entry 3 / Level 1

Programme Outline:

LEAP qualifications are at Entry 3 and Level 1. Students on the LEAP course have a main focus on a particular area of interest, but are not entirely limited to one subject, getting tasters of other areas too.

Currently, LEAP subjects are:

  • Retail and Customer Service
  • Motor Vehicle Studies (professional valeting; motor vehicle checks and basic service skills)
  • Hospitality and Customer Service
  • Trades (woodwork, tiling, plastering, painting and basic 'production-line' skills)
  • Horticulture

The following subjects may also be part of the LEAP programme depending on interests/requirements:

  • Art and Design
  • Sports and Fitness
  • Employability Skills
  • Performance (dance, drama, basic 'prop-making)

Each LEAP study programme will also involve English and Maths and any required support and/or therapies to meet individual needs.

Progression:

Progression after LEAP is likely to be: employment, further education or a Supported Internship.
