British Wireless for The Blind Fund

British Wireless for the Blind Fund is the only charity which provides specially adapted audio equipment to people with sight loss across the UK who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

Our radios are a lifeline to those who are visually impaired, becoming a companion and a friendly voice in what can often be a very lonely world.

We have a variety of modified equipment which meets the differing needs of people with sight loss. We continue to research trends, particularly at this time when technology is leaping ahead, to ensure that the latest developments are implemented as soon as possible.

British Wireless provides radios on free loan to people who are registered blind or partially sighted, resident in the UK, over the age of eight and in receipt of a means tested benefit.

To find out more about us and our plans for 2017, come and join us at Sight Village

BWBF Direct was launched in 2006, selling adapted radios to a variety of people. It became apparent very early on that, although our radios are designed with visually impaired people in mind, they were also a piece of equipment suitable for other people, and could enhance the life of someone with Alzheimer’s , arthritis, mobility issues or those who have suffered a stroke
