Royal Shakespeare Company

One of the world’s best-known theatre ensembles, the Royal Shakespeare Company performs throughout the year in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The RSC performs the plays of William Shakespeare, alongside the work of his contemporaries and new writing. You can also glimpse behind the scenes  on a guided Theatre Tour, and enjoy freshly prepared, locally sourced food in the Rooftop Restaurant. More information about what’s on at the RSC can be found at

We offer Audio Described performances for all our productions in Stratford-upon-Avon. Audio Description is a live verbal commentary providing information on the visual elements of a production. The description is delivered via a personal headset. The Audio Describers speak between the actors lines, so you won’t miss any of the dialogue.

We also run free Touch Tours before our Audio Described performances. The Audio Describer will take you on to the stage so you can get a feel for the space, and get close to the set, costumes and props used during the play.

We also produce introductory notes for our productions, which can be downloaded from the website or sent to your home on CD, on request.  There are also front row seats available for each performance.  Tickets for disabled people are £16 in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre  in Stratford-upon-Avon – whenever you visit and wherever you choose to sit.

What the students say

I love my course because it is very practical and includes woodwork, tiling and plastering. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun too!
