OrCam harnesses the power of artificial vision to improve the lives of people who are blind, visually impaired, and have reading difficulties. Its latest device, OrCam MyEye 2.0, is a breakthrough, wearable artificial vision device which was launched in the UK in 2018. The whole device is completely wireless, is only about the size of a finger, and weighs less than an ounce. Despite its compact size, OrCam MyEye 2.0 uses cutting-edge artificial vision technology to enable users to instantly and discreetly read text off of any surface, as well as to seamlessly recognise faces, products, barcodes, and bank notes. The device is can be magnetically mounted onto the user’s eyeglasses or sunglasses frame, and functions such as volume control are performed using a touch pad on the side of the device. OrCam MyEye 2.0 is assistive technology which really gives users increased independence and confidence.
