The Torch Trust

Torch Trust is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity and access for people with vision impairment and to tackling the isolation that sight loss can bring. Torch runs specialist holidays and short breaks, telephone friendship and local support groups, produces accessible Christian resources for free-loan or purchase, and a radio programme on faith and disability. Torch also works with churches to ensure that people with sight loss can find good pastoral care and participate fully in church life. To this end, Torch provides visual awareness training, online resources, and guidance on setting up local support, including a new befriending service.

What the students say

I love my course because it is very practical and includes woodwork, tiling and plastering. We work hard but we also have a lot of fun too!
