Umberslade Nurseries is an Enterprise run by Queen Alexandra College in Harborne, a National College and Charity for people with disabilities. We offer education for young people aged 16 - 25yrs as well as employment focussed training.
Students attend Umberslade Nurseries as part of their Preparation for Life and Independence Plus work. They play a vital role in maintaining, planting and harvesting our produce, learning about horticulture and experiencing the outdoor environment.
We welcome you to come and a pay a visit our retail outlet at Umberslade Nurseries. We stock a wide range of:
• Herbaceous Perennials
• Seasonal Bedding Plants
• Garden sundries
Our retail outlet also offers a range of ornamental home and garden items, craft items made by our students and local artists and many products that would make a perfect gift. Feel free to browse and find something that is just a little bit different.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00am until 4.00pm
In addition to our retail outlet we are also proud to announce the introduction of “The Potting Shed Tea Rooms” at Umberslade. It is a very welcoming tea room offering hot drinks, sandwiches and cake all at very reasonable prices.
We run Workshops and School Holiday Events throughout the year, including Easter Egg Hunts, Teddy Bears Picnic, Forest Schools and can also cater for children’s parties. To keep up to date with upcoming events, pay a visit to our Umberslade Nurseries Facebook page.

What the students say
I really like QAC because it is a safe environment. It is supportive but at the same time staff here will challenge students to achieve even more
