Accessible Health Information: Understanding Your Rights

Raise awareness of blind and partially sighted people's rights to information in their required format under the Equality Act 2010 and new All-Wales Accessible Communication and Information Standards (All-Wales Standards). Attendees will be empowered with the knowledge, skills and confidence to self-advocate and campaign for accessible health and information, with support from RNIB Cymru. The workshop will also highlight how local campaigning can help identify bad practice that RNIB Cymru can challenge and identify or develop good practice to be shared within the NHS Wales.

The McGonagle® Reader Assistive Voting Device - Pakflatt

Pakflatt's mission is to enable all citizens to vote independently and in secret, irrespective of any disability. They will deliver a presentation showcasing how their patented McGonagle® Reader (MGR) audio and touch navigation device can transform the experience of voters who are blind or partially sighted, including those who have never felt able to vote before. Widely tested and proven with various user groups throughout the UK and Ireland, the MGR achieved a 93% success rate in tests by the RNIB. It has also been tested successfully with adult literacy groups and individuals with neurodiversity.

Preparing for the changes to Access to Work

With many changes happening with access to work funding and timelines, clients now need to prepare documentation and alternative support to work in conjunction with Access to Work to ensure that support can continue uninterrupted. Prepare for renewals and what to do if you have received an unfavourable decision.
