How to Get to Glasgow Science Centre (GSC)

On Foot

Get your step count up and enjoy stunning views of the Clydeside! Glasgow Science Centre is easy to walk to, thanks to well-maintained public footpaths. It takes about 30 minutes to walk along the riverside from the heart of Glasgow City Centre.

By Bike

  • Glasgow Science Centre is close to National Cycle Route 7. For detailed cycling routes, visit Sustrans.
  • There is a Glasgow City Public Bicycle Hire Station, operated by Nextbike by TIER, located at Glasgow Science Centre, where you can rent, park, or return OVO bikes.
  • For more information on hiring bicycles or e-bikes in Glasgow, visit You Well.
  • Cycle stands are available near the car park close to the entrance.

By Bus

We are just a short walk from the following bus services:

  • Stagecoach X19 – Govan Road / Pacific Quay
  • First Bus No 90 – Paisley Road West
  • McGill's Bus 23 and 26 – Pacific Drive
  • Glasgow Sightseeing Bus
    • Yellow Tour: Stop 16 at Glasgow Science Centre
    • Red Tour: Closest stop is at the SEC (Stop 11) — then cross the river on foot to the Science Centre

By Subway

The nearest subway station is Cessnock:

  1. Exit the station and turn left
  2. Turn right onto Brand Street
  3. Turn left onto Lorne Street
  4. Turn left onto Pacific Drive
  5. The entrance to Glasgow Science Centre is at the roundabout

Approx. 20–25 minutes on foot.

By Train

The nearest train station is Exhibition Centre on the Argyle Line, with regular services from Glasgow Central and Partick stations.

  • Follow signs through the covered walkway to the SEC
  • Cross the river using Bells Bridge or Millennium Bridge
  • Short walk to the Science Centre

Approx. 12–15 minutes from the station.

By Car

  • From the M8 (east or west): Take Junction 24 and follow the brown tourist signs.
  • From the M8 (eastbound familiar route): Leave at Junction 19, travel down Broomielaw, cross at the Clyde Arc (“Squinty Bridge”), then along Govan Road into Pacific Quay.
  • From the M77: Stay in the left lane (Tradeston/Kinning Park) as the motorway merges with the M8. Take Junction 21 and follow brown tourist signs.
  • From the Clydeside Expressway: Take SECC (E) exit and follow brown tourist signs
