Keratoconus Group
Keratoconus is a condition of the cornea affecting about 1 in 2000 people in the UK and is usually diagnosed in the teens or early twenties. The cornea becomes thin and begins to bulge forward, causing the vision to become distorted. The support group currently has 2300 members throughout the UK and holds regular meetings for members in London, Birmingham, Leicester and Glasgow as well as a national conference every two years. It produces regular newsletters, information leaflets and DVDs of the conferences. It also runs a very active discussion forum on the website www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/forum A helpline is also available.
