Former student highlights his progression since leaving QAC

As all students have now returned to QAC, we were lucky enough to hear from former student Ralph, who left QAC in 2025.

“It’s Ralph, a former QAC IT student. I’m very happy to share my progress so far since I left QAC last year, in 2025. Since graduating from QAC, I’ve made more memories to add to the ones I made as a QAC student. My first year at Mencap went really well. I’ve achieved a Level 2 in Maths, and I made new friends there; I also have some fantastic news to share with you and the college.

Last week, I had the amazing experience of volunteering at the 2026 European Athletics Championships here in Birmingham! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I will remember. I helped and supported athletes, coaches and team officials, and I helped give out t-shirts to all the participants in the Unity 5K and Unity 1K runs held in the City Centre. I also really enjoyed meeting and having chats with spectators. This is a massive achievement to add to the student ambassador and student council roles I did at QAC, and it really helped me build confidence for the next year at Mencap and the future ahead.

During his time at QAC, Ralph completed his IT qualification and was a student ambassador, where he was involved in supporting open days for prospective students.
