QAC Welcomes the Lord Mayor of Birmingham
We recently had a very special visitor to QAC, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zaker Choudhry!
The Lord Mayor was met by Bev Jessop, CEO - Exexcutive Principal and Jagdeep Soor, Managing Director of QAC Enterprises and later Mark Abrams, QAC's Chair of Trustees. The Lord Mayor learned about all the life changing support QAC offers to it's students, and all the fantastic work undertaken by its staff. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the Building Brighter Futures campaign, showcasing QAC’s ambitious vision for the future.
He was then taken on a tour of campus with Cathryn Worth, head of income generation. The Lord Mayor had the chance to meet and greet a number of students in catering, the gym, sports hall and in our digital media classroom, everywhere he was very warmly received.

Two of our Student Ambassadors also enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor, making the most of the occasion by asking thoughtful questions about his role and experiences. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were rewarded with a special invitation to visit the Birmingham City Council House.
Bev commented on the Lord Mayor's visit: "The students, staff, and I were delighted to meet the Lord Mayor and greatly appreciated the opportunity to share the work of our charity and the achievements of the people we support. The genuine interest, encouragement, and engagement with our students had a positive impact and contributed to a very special time for everyone involved. We are grateful for the Lord Mayor's support and for the time he spent learning about our work around empowering people with disabilities to achieve their aspirations and live fulfilling lives".
