In addition to a range of student wellbeing and mindfulness activities such as yoga in the College’s yurt, QAC has a new on site Wellbeing Hub. Students value the one-to-one sessions they can attend with mentors about their mental health and wellbeing - the Hub allows students the opportunity to meet with mentors and College counsellors in a confidential, comfortable and safe environment.
QAC has a mentoring programme designed to support students with additional social and emotional needs which may impact on their learning.
Mentors work 1:1 or in small groups offering support with personal and social issues as well as delivering the mentoring curriculum, Jigsaw, which was developed by the Educational Psychologist. Jigsaw helps students to develop their self-identity, social awareness, emotional literacy, regulation of emotions and resilience in facing difficulties and challenges.
