CleanTEC Partners with QAC to Deliver Life Skills Training for Students
CleanTEC, an employee-owned cleaning company who also provide cleaning services here at QAC, is delivering Life Skills Training sessions for our Preparation for Life (PFL) Step Up Sage students.
Launched in September, the training has provided students with the chance to learn practical cleaning skills that they can apply at home, college and the workplace.
From the very first session, students jumped right in, asking thoughtful questions, sharing their ideas and getting hands-on with new tools and techniques.
Stephen Dove, QuEST Manager at CleanTEC and lead trainer for the sessions, commented:
“The students are responding well, they’re thinking outside the box and asking great questions. It’s fantastic to see!”
Our classroom tutor has already noticed a significant difference and commented:
“They’re putting their new skills to use every day, remembering colour coding, practicing safe cleaning and really taking pride in their work.”
Over the coming weeks, students will build their confidence and knowledge in:
- Vacuuming and surface cleaning
- Mixing and handling cleaning solutions safely
- Understanding health and safety procedures
- Learning how commercial cleaning works in real settings
The sessions are designed not only to teach practical cleaning techniques but also to empower students with valuable life skills, boost their confidence and potentially open doors to future employment opportunities for those who want to take it further.
Stephen explains:
“Our aim is to give back to the community. By learning to clean in a structured and professional way, students gain transferable skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.”
